Texas is a Scottish rock band from Glasgow, formed in 1986 by Johnny McElhone (formerly of Altered Images and Hipsway), Ellie McErlane and Sharleen Spiteri (vocals). Texas, despite their name, has no connection to the US state of Texas. Texas made their debut in March 1988 at the University of Dundee.
