J.K. Rowling is a British author best known for the Harry Potter series. Born on July 31, 1965, in Yate, England, she studied French at the University of Exeter. Her debut novel, Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone (1997), launched a seven-book series that became a global phenomenon, spawning blockbuster films and cultural impact.
Beyond Harry Potter, Rowling wrote the adult novel The Casual Vacancy and the Cormoran Strike detective series under the pseudonym Robert Galbraith. Her works have inspired movies, stage plays, and countless adaptations.
